FOXY TOOLS 2.0 / IMPORTING

Know your real import costs before you order.

Model the costs of sourcing products through Alibaba or another overseas supplier. Calculate landed cost per unit, estimated selling margin, and your break-even price—using your own numbers.

Your shipment assumptions

Example product: acoustic slat wood wall panels, 10 feet tall × 2 feet wide (120 × 24 inches) per panel. The example quantity is 100 panels. Replace every dollar amount with your own actual supplier, freight, and broker quotes. All amounts are in USD.

Important shipping distinction: This calculator does not automatically price shipping by length, width, cubic volume, weight, pallet count, or container type. The freight default is an illustrative placeholder, not a verified price to ship 10-foot panels from China. Oversized cargo can require special loading, unloading and delivery arrangements. Request a shipment-specific freight quote before making a purchasing decision.

Important: Planning calculator, not customs or financial advice. The example assumes 10-foot-tall by 2-foot-wide acoustic slat panels; dollar amounts are illustrative placeholders, not actual freight prices, supplier offers, or AZ Wood Panels financial data. The tool does not calculate shipping from the panels' physical dimensions, packing volume, or weight. Duties, tariffs, exclusions, tax bases, Incoterms, customs classification, antidumping measures, and fees change and must be verified with a qualified customs broker or official authority. Sales, margins and profits are projections, not guarantees. The calculator does not determine net income, financing costs, tax liabilities or cash-flow timing.

What does landed cost mean?

The total estimated cost to purchase inventory and bring it into sellable condition at your destination, including freight, import charges and local receiving expenses.

Why can a profitable-looking product lose money?

Factory prices can omit freight, duties, unloading, returns, payment fees, advertising and storage. Unused inventory also ties up cash.

What is a good gross margin?

There is no universal safe percentage. Compare your modeled margin against realistic sales volume, overhead, working capital and product risk in your market.
