THE FOXY METHOD

Start with a better question.

Ask what outcome would actually improve life at home. Then evaluate doing nothing, a smaller change, DIY work, or professional services before deciding whether a purchase makes sense.

1. Understand what you want to improve

Is the room too plain, the TV wall visually unbalanced, or the space missing warmth and texture? First consider whether paint, furniture arrangement, lighting or a smaller design accent could solve the problem without covering the whole wall.

2. Choose the right design for the space

Use the existing room palette and natural light to choose a finish that complements your furniture. Decide whether the feature should cover the full wall, sit behind a TV, or frame a smaller zone. Obtain finish samples when possible.

3. Compare materials honestly

Acoustic slat panels, veneer-faced materials, solid-wood elements and WPC fluted panels can look different, carry different maintenance requirements and have different installation demands. The appearance of 'acoustic' slats does not mean a finished wall is soundproof.

4. Measure before you order

Record wall width and height, outlets, switches, vents, windows, doors and any obstructions. Calculate panel coverage based on actual product dimensions and installation orientation. Allow for cutting, waste, end treatment and trims where appropriate.

5. Plan safe installation

Check the wall surface and any hardware or TV mounting. A wall-mounted television must be supported by proper structural fixings or a suitable mounting system—not merely decorative panels or felt backing. Follow manufacturer instructions and applicable electrical guidance.

6. Calculate the true value

Add panels, adhesive or fasteners, trims, tools, finishing pieces, delivery and installation labor. Compare the result with paint or a partial-wall treatment. A thoughtful smaller project can be the smarter move.
